Tips for sharing recipes in MyNetDiary

Sharing recipes in MyNetDiary is easy and a helpful shortcut for at-home meals and special gatherings with friends. Get the most out of using MyNetDiary’s recipe-sharing features with these tips.
Share your customized recipes with your family members, other MyNetDiary users, and people who do not use a calorie tracker. Sharing recipes is useful when you and a friend eat the same meal. Or, you really enjoyed the dish you cooked the other night and know a friend who would also like it. It is much easier to share than manually duplicating or importing the recipe for each MyNetDiary user. Here’s how.
If you’re sharing with someone who does not have MyNetDiary installed, the recipe link will open a webpage with the recipe. It will also prompt the person to download MyNetDiary.
Sharing lets users easily share their food diary with friends on the app. Go to the “Community” tab within the MyNetDiary app, scroll over to the “Friends” tab, find and select the friend's name with whom you want to share your food diary. There should be an option for “Share My Diary.” Toggle it on, so your friend can see your food diary.
It’s easy to share recipes with other MyNetDiary users. Tap “Manage My Foods” > “Recipes.” Next, choose the recipe you want to share and select “View Recipe.” Tap the three dots in the upper right corner, select “Share,” then click “Share Recipe Link,” and copy it. Open “Chats” in your “Community” tab, and paste the recipe link into a new message with your MyNetDiary friend. Your friend can click on the link in the chat and add the shared recipe to “My Recipes.”
Share MyNetDiary recipes directly from your iMessage app. Open iMessage, select the MyNetDiary icon, and choose the recipe you want to share. Unfortunately, you cannot search or preview the recipe before sharing it. A popup saying “the foods have been sent” will appear at the bottom of your screen. It can be easy to miss this notice, so double-check your messages before resending the recipe.
Members of the same household may wish to share meals to make tracking easier. If you and a housemate use MyNetDiary, it is possible to share what you all had for dinner together! However, both you and your housemate need to have the same form of the MyNetDiary app—either MyNetDiary Free or Premium.
There are two ways to share meals: via the MND app or iMessage.
In the app, go to the meal you want to share. Then, tap the three dots in the upper right corner and select “Send via iMessage,” which will take you to a list of foods from that meal.
You can deselect any foods you don’t want to share. For example, suppose you ate eggs, toast, and berries for breakfast, but your housemate only had eggs and toast. In that case, you can deselect the berries before sharing.
Sending a meal directly from iMessage is simple as well. Open your iMessages and begin writing a new message to someone. Look for the MyNetDiary app icon either below the text box or under “+” then “More.” Select the MyNetDiary app icon, then choose which of your logged meals you wish to share. Meals not yet logged will be greyed out.
When someone receives a shared meal, the person can select or unselect ingredients, then tap either “Add to MyNetDiary” or “Add and Open MyNetDiary.” The second option adds the foods selected and also opens the app so you can see everything and make any necessary adjustments. You can adjust the portion size before adding the meal to MyNetDiary.
